Reliability Test System: Precision Actuation Solution that Provides Component Performance and Reliability Testing

Challenge

An aerospace/defense customer needed a new precision actuation solution to replace an HPU with hydraulic cylinder actuators used on a reliability testing stand that could provide programmable, accurate position and force control for their testing process.

Kyntronics Solution

  • “Total Solution” electric linear servo actuator. The system included the actuator, motor, cables, and control system in an enclosure, factory tested and tuned.
  • Linear actuator with force and position feedback using servo control.
  • Programmable test profile, e.g., slow ramp up to 8,000 lbf. over 15 minutes and then hold for 3 minutes.

  • Eliminated hydraulics, resulting in increased efficiency and an environmentally friendly, sustainable solution.
  • Able to collect test signature data to track and analyze.
  • Integrated customer load cell for traceable force measurement
