Compact Servo Power Units
Traditional hydraulic power units (HPUs) and cylinders have long been used in industrial automation, but they come with high maintenance costs, inefficient energy consumption and environmental concerns. The Servo Power Unit (SPU) is a compact, electrically operated, hydraulic power unit that incorporates a servo motor, pump, valving and rod compensation reservoir and connects directly to an external cylinder or rotary actuator through quick-connect couplings. The SPU is typically located very close to the cylinder or rotary actuator to minimize fluid and efficiency losses. A SPU is typically used to operate a single cylinder, although it can operate multiple cylinders as well.
