Kyntronics Hybrid Long Stroke Linear Actuators
Applications requiring long-stroke actuators [greater than 36” (914 mm) stroke] create unique challenges for the machine designer, including greater deflection, reduction in precision, and higher costs.
Kyntronics long-stroke Hybrid electro-hydraulic actuators (SHA) address these issues at a far lower cost than ball screw / roller screw actuators and are available in significantly longer stroke lengths up to 120” (3,048 mm) as standard. Kyntronics long-stroke actuators include precision linear position sensors for precise control.
The SHA features special design elements for long-stroke applications, enhancing the actuator’s robustness through larger diameter rods, thicker cylinder tube walls, internal tube stops, extended rod bearing length, and thicker tie rods. Kyntronics Applications Engineers perform the necessary calculations for your specific application to ensure stiffness, prevent buckling, and ensure reliable operation, among other factors.
With stroke lengths available up to 120 inches (3,048 mm) along with precision linear sensors and pressure sensors for precise, programmable control, Kyntronics has extensive experience applying the SHA in long-stroke applications with high duty cycles.
