A wine and whiskey barrel manufacturer was using a roller screw electro-mechanical actuator on their barrel assembly press machine that was frequently failing due to shock loads, causing extensive unplanned downtime and high maintenance costs. A reliable solution was required, but could not be hydraulic due to concerns about leaks causing product spoilage.
