Sizing a Servo Power Unit (SPU)

Kyntronics Servo Power Unit (SPU) product line can increase the efficiency of your industrial and mobile application, external hydraulic cylinders or rotary motors. The SPU includes several design features & options to improve controllability using simple electrical components and eliminate the need for hydraulic power units. It is compatible with a wide range of linear cylinders and rotary actuators through quick connect fittings.

Choosing the right servo power unit can be done in 5 easy steps.

• Cylinder Size / Drawing – Provide a drawing or cylinder size dimensions; with information such as bore size, rod size stroke, etc.
• Operating Pressure – Determine the operating pressure of the desired cylinder that we will be using in our SPU.
• Speed / Flow Rate – Determine the speed requirements of the system. This can be given in terms of in/s or mm/s.
• Duty Cycle – Confirm the duty cycle time of the operation. This is the total run time and rest time throughout the day.
• Machine Fit – External cylinder or rotary motor supplied by customer.
