Challenge

A machine builder was tasked to build a servo press to produce airbag system metal components for a tier-one automotive supplier. They required a solution that would not use hydraulics or electromechanical actuators due to the high shock loads experienced with the process. They also required smart actuators for in-process quality checks and data collection from the press, due to this being a safety component for the automotive industry.
