Lifting / Positioning: Retrofitting Hydraulic Power Units in Heavy-Duty Lifting Actuation System

Challenge

A military customer wanted to remove a large hydraulic power unit and retrofit a lifting actuation system used on a shipboard heavy panel application. The application required fast extension and retraction times and needed special features such as manual operation, redundancy, and synchronization. It also needed to connect with their existing cylinders.

Kyntronics Solution

  • Servo Power Unit (SPU) “Total Solution” incorporating two banks of five SPUs, a control cabinet, and a remote operator HMI station with software.
  • Control cabinet with all drives and electronics mounted, wired, and tested.
  • Ability to manually operate the system in the event of a power outage.
  • Ability to service one or more SPUs while keeping the system in operation.
  • Synchronized speed across both five-SPU banks.
