Flavoring Tank Lifting System: Hybrid Actuator with IP67 Design Sustains Daily Caustic Washdown Protocol

Challenge

A bacon products manufacturer was looking for an IP67-rated lifting actuation solution that would hold up to mandatory daily washdown protocols. They wanted to eliminate the HPU and hydraulic cylinders being used that were experiencing regular downtime and excessive maintenance. They determined it would be difficult to achieve this solution with a long-stroke electro-mechanical actuator and that the IP requirements would be prohibitively expensive.

Kyntronics Solution

  • “Total Solution” electric linear actuator. The system included the actuator, motor, cables, and control system in a stainless-steel enclosure, factory-tested and tuned.
  • Long stroke linear actuator with force and position feedback rated at IP67 with epoxy coating and enclosed motor.
  • HMI included in the control enclosure with software for operator control of the lifting system.
