Material Handling Lift: Replaced problematic hydraulics with Hybrid Linear Actuators and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Control

Challenge

A material handling equipment OEM had a customer requirement for an actuation solution that did not involve the use of an HPU or hydraulic cylinders. They were looking for a simple, cost-effective design as an LRU that incorporated an induction motor and VFD. An electro-mechanical actuator couldn’t be used for the application due to shock loading and reliability concerns.

  • Electric linear actuator system with variable frequency drive control using customer-supplied drive and induction motor.
  • Unique actuator mounting to ensure lift fitment when collapsed.
  • Custom 56C frame motor mounting plate.
  • Simple limit switch control with integrated holding valves.
