A Defense and Aerospace Test System Company was awarded a project involving a challenging application to test F-18 Tail Hook Dampers that required actuators to apply a precise force across a wide force range (50 lbf – 14,000 lbf). In addition, the application required the test stand to be portable and have a smaller footprint than what is typically used in conventional test equipment. This type of demanding environment is exactly where a hybrid actuator for aerospace and defense applications can deliver superior performance, reliability, and precise force control.
