Security Wedge Lift: Security Wedge Barrier Lifting Actuator in a Restricted Space with Limited Available Power for Outdoor Installations

Challenge

A security barricade system OEM needed a lifting actuator solution for their wedge barriers located in outdoor installations. The system needed to provide reliable operation for security wedge barriers and bollards residing below ground level. The actuators needed to provide the desired force in a restricted space with limited available power. They also required a manual backup feature that could be used to operate the barrier in the event of a power outage.

Kyntronics Solution

  • Total Solution electric linear servo actuator. The system included the actuator, motor, cables, and control system mounted to a backplate, factory tested and tuned.
  • The actuator incorporated an innovative angled configuration to fit the limited available space with force and position feedback rated at IP67 with an enclosed motor.
