UPGRADING A PRESSURE CYLINDER DIMPLE PRESS WITH HYBRID ACTUATION

Challenge

A large metal fabricator of pressure vessels was experiencing high maintenance and downtime with their existing hydraulic press system. They were seeking to eliminate traditional hydraulics and achieve more precise and repeatable control within their process. However, due to significant shock loading within the application, conventional screw-driven electro-mechanical actuators were not a viable solution.
