Medical Imaging Machine Patient Lift: Ultra-quiet Hybrid Linear Actuator with Smooth Motion and Compact Design

Challenge

An OEM of medical imaging equipment required a high-force linear actuator solution for a new patient couch lifting mechanism in development. The OEM considered using electro-mechanical actuators for the new couch but found they were too large to fit into their scissor lift mechanism to produce the required force. In addition, electro-mechanical actuation solutions were too noisy and would not achieve the desired dB target.
