Metal Tube Pipe Forming Servo Press: When High Precision Actuators are Needed

A tube-forming machine OEM required high-precision actuators for their metal tube-forming machines. They also required a more environmentally friendly solution than using hydraulics on their tube-forming servo press machines. An electro-mechanical actuator was considered but was ruled out because it could not cost-effectively provide the required force needed and the failure risk from shock loads inherent in the process.
