Navy Hexapod Material Testing
Challenge
The United States Navy wanted to upgrade their servo hydraulic fatigue testing machine (hexapod) by eliminating hydraulics due to leaks and excessive noise from the HPU. This six-axis testing actuation solution required multiple program modes with a single actuator design to test material and collect data for analysis. The application required actuators that provided precise control over a wide force range.
