Challenge

A truck manufacturer had issues with their welding press’ pneumatic actuator system: lack of control, poor force consistency and air leaks. Shock loading was also a factor with previous-used screw-type actuators and they did not want an HPU system. They required a servo press actuator that would press and hold the components being welded in a precise manner.
