Challenge

An end user in the light pole manufacturing industry wanted to improve process control on their tube forming servo press machines and required a robust actuation solution that was environmentally friendly and could provide higher forces and tolerate shock loading. A screw-type EMA could not handle the required force and the shock loads inherent in the process.
