Servo Cylinders
Servo cylinders are a term used to describe a linear servo actuator that uses either hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical technology as the means to achieve linear motion.
Kyntronics servo cylinders, aka electro-hydraulic servo cylinders or electro-hydraulic servo actuators are rugged industrial linear actuators that are servo controlled and used on critical precision applications. Unlike traditional servo hydraulic cylinders that utilize proportional servo valves to regulate flow and pressure to the cylinder, Kyntronics actuators incorporate a servo motor that is bi-directionally operated with precise servo control of motor speed and motor torque.
The linear motion produced by Kyntronics electro-hydraulic actuator is simple, the actuator extends the cylinder rod by the motor rotating the pump in one direction. Retracting the cylinder rod is accomplished by reversing the motor direction. The speed and force of the actuator is accomplished by closed-loop regulation of the motor speed and motor torque that drives the pump.
Kyntronics electro-hydraulic actuators are often used to provide precise linear motion control. A position sensor or limit switches provide feedback to the programmable actuator controller to determine when the actuator motor starts and stops and can be controlled to precisely move to programmable positions.
Kyntronics servo cylinders are an ideal choice for many applications. They provide programmable precise control of position, force, speed and dwell while combining robust industrial design features that provide superior reliability and low maintenance compared with other servo cylinder technology.
Kyntronics electro-hydraulic actuators are found in nearly every industry on a variety of applications including:
