An OEM of dry ice production machines wanted to remove hydraulics from their machines to reduce noise, eliminate leaks and improve energy efficiency. They required a servo press actuator that would provide high force (>22,000 lbf) and integrate with their simple PLC for machine control purposes. The high force requirement made screw-type EMAs a cost-prohibitive solution.
