Electric Hydraulic Power Unit
Electric hydraulic power units are available in many configurations and different levels of technology. Kyntronics produces a version of an electric hydraulic power unit called a Servo Power Unit (SPU)
Kyntronics Servo Power Units (SPU) replace inefficient, leaky and high-maintenance electric hydraulic power units (HPUs) in industrial and mobile applications. Our SPUs are generally used to power individual hydraulic actuators however they can connect with multiple actuators if required. The SPU is used for both new installations and retrofit situations.
Servo Power Unit with Controller
SPUs connect to hydraulic cylinders or rotary motors supplied by Kyntronics or others. With their compact size, they can be located very close to the cylinder using short hoses and robust quick-connect fittings, reducing the risk of leaks and efficiency losses.
Kyntronics servo electric hydraulic power units are ideal for instances where our SMART electro-hydraulic actuators (SHA) cannot fit in the available space. SPUs provide many similar benefits as the SHA including precise position, force, and speed control, energy efficiency and compact size. They are compatible with most common fieldbus networks such as CanBus, Ethernet, and Modbus. The SPU is a compact hydraulic power unit that allows it to be integrated into a variety of machines. The sealed design uses minimal fluid and eliminates the need for fluid changes, and with fewer connections, reduces the risk of leaks.
Servo control of the SPU is accomplished using a servo motor connected to a drive supplied by Kyntronics (our P-Series Total Solution) or by others (our P-Series Power Unit Only option). Position sensors mount to the cylinder or machine mechanism for closed-loop control of position. The SPU controls the motor speed and torque using the sensor inputs for feedback. The SPU does not use expensive proportional valves or hydraulic servo valves for control.
Optional SPU pressure transducers measure extend and retract pressure at the hose connection points allowing precise calculation and control of applied force in both directions. Control of position, force or a combination of both position and force is available with our standard software (P-Series Total Solution).

- Input Power: 24 – 80 VDC or 120 – 480 VAC
