Kyntronics linear electric actuators incorporate the speed and precision of electro-mechanical screw-type actuators combined with the power and shock resistance of hydraulic actuators resulting in our SMART electro-hydraulic linear actuator technology (SHA). The SHA offers the benefits of both hydraulic cylinders and screw-type actuators (EMAs) without their inherent maintenance and reliability disadvantages like inevitable hydraulic leaks or premature screw wear. These electric actuators are servo-controlled electro-hydraulic actuators that meet the requirements of both new and retrofit applications in nearly every industry.
Kyntronics electric linear actuators are sometimes referred to as “electric cylinders” or “electric cylinder linear actuators”. They are available in a wide range of sizes:
- Force Range: from <100 lbs. (0.4 kN) to 150,000 lbs. (667 kN)
- Speed: up to 34.5 in/s (877 mm/s)
- Stroke Length: any increment up to 120 in. (3,048 mm)
- Input Power: 24 – 80 VDC or 120 – 480 VAC
Kyntronics SMART Electro-Hydraulic Linear Actuators (SHAs) are a compelling alternative to traditional hydraulic and electro-mechanical actuation technology. Their design features a sealed integral hydraulic cylinder that uses minimal fluid to allow the SHA to withstand high shock loads and provide high speed electric powered actuation while maintaining the excellent programmability and precision of the traditional linear electric actuator. Kyntronics actuators eliminate the risk of metal-on-metal wear, and do not require the complicated infrastructure of hoses, tanks and other components that hydraulic actuators need.
